Harry will get a statue if he wins with Spurs

CROUCH: TOTTENHAM GLORY WOULD MEAN MOST TO KANE

HARRY KANE has been told he could have a statue outside Tottenham’s stadium one day if he fires them to a trophy.

Former Spurs frontman Peter Crouch believes winning silverware with the club would mean “10 times” as much to Kane as doing it elsewhere.

Kane will hope to boost Spurs’ chance of a Premier League title bid by beating Liverpool tonight.

But many believe he may have to go elsewhere to win silverware.

“Sometimes the grass isn’t always greener,” said Crouch. “If you win something at Tottenham, it is going to mean 10 times more than going to Real Madrid and winning something.

“He’s a top player and he deserves the best so nobody can begrudge him anything if he wants to move.

“But I just feel like if he thinks there’s a chance of winning something at Tottenham it would mean far more to him. At Tottenham, if he finishes there or he manages to win something there, they’ll have a statue built for him, wouldn’t they.”

Crouch, below, was at Tottenham between 2009 and 2011 when Kane was starting to train with the first team. And he has been delighted to see the striker continue to improve, with 14 assists so far this season, along with 19 goals.

“It has been magnificent to see him evolve,” said Crouch. “I wouldn’t say he burst on the scene and we all went, ‘Wow’, but he always used to score in every game in training.

“The way he has worked on his game and improved it, he’s a manager’s dream.

“Any young player should look up to someone like him.

“He is so two-footed – you can see he has worked on that – good in the air, and then he has adapted his game again.

He is dropping into those little holes and it is almost Teddy Sheringham-like.

“Then there’s rapid passes into Son Heung-Min and spraying 60-yard cross-field passes, but he’s still getting the goals. He is one of the best strikers in Europe, without a doubt.”

Crouch will have an interested eye on tonight’s clash given he also had a successful spell at Anfield, and still believes Jurgen Klopp’s side can defend their title.

He added: “I had Liverpool at the start of the season. I think Man City would be favourites now but I will stick with Liverpool.”
