Edie loses tumour battle
BRAVE Edie Jackson, the seven year old who captured the hearts of Daily Express readers, has lost her battle with cancer. Her heartbroken family paid tribute to the “warrior princess” yesterday after she died at home. Parents Craig and Lois were at her bedside. Yesterday, her aunt Emmie Adams said: “Seven years of beautiful memories will always live on. She will never be forgotten.” The Express was the first national newspaper to tell of Edie’s shock diagnosis with a rare inoperable tumour just before Christmas 2019. Some 6,000 people joined a family fundraising drive and raised £300,000 to pay for treatment in New York. Craig, 40, and Lois, 39, of Waltham Abbey, Essex, also have a son, Charlie, 10.
