STAR Wars actress Daisy Ridley will swap her lightsaber for a spatula after signing up for The Great Celebrity Bake Off. Daisy, 28, has become a superstar after playing Rey in the franchise’s latest trilogy of films. Insiders on the show joked that she could attempt a “princess layer” cake if she opts for Star Wars-themed treats in the famous tent.

A show source said: “Daisy comes on the show as a passionate baker. Star Wars fans will enjoy seeing her – it is so different from her big screen role. “You will get to see a lot more of Daisy’s own personality on screen and see her tested.

Pressure

“It seems the pressure of the tent can even fluster a Jedi.” Londoner Daisy joins a starry line-up on the Stand Up To Cancer fundraiser. Also competing are actor James McAvoy, Dame Kelly Holmes, comic John Bishop, presenter Stacey Dooley, comedians Tom Allen and David Baddiel, Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall and boxer KSI. They join Paralympian Ade Adepitan, writer Philippa Perry, DJ Nick Grimshaw, comic Rob Beckett, singer Alexandra Burke, Anneka Rice, actor Reece Shearsmith, rapper Dizzee Rascal, singers Anne-Marie and Nadine Coyle and comedian Katherine Ryan. The show, hosted by Matt Lucas and judged by Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood, starts in March on Channel 4.
