Mum holds baby...three months on
A NURSE who gave birth nearly three months ago while battling Covid-19 has finally been reunited with her baby daughter.
Eva Gicain, 30, had an emergency C-section at Basildon University Hospital, Essex, in early November,
Ten days after baby Elleana was born, Eva was transferred to the Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge.
She was hooked up to an artificial lung that helped oxygenate her blood. Her husband Limuel, 30, was battling Covid-19 at home.
Now discharged, Eva and Limuel, a palliative care healthcare assistant, got to celebrate Christmas together with their daughter last week.
Eva said: “When I held Elleana for the first time I didn’t want to let go. It was a special moment.
“Life is unpredictable and we are now just looking forward to being a little family and spending time together.”
