Queen’s Guards in ammo rap

TWO of the Queen’s Guards have been arrested by Flying Squad detectives on suspicion of plotting to steal bullets.

The two noncommiss­ioned officers, one of whom is in charge of ammunition, were seized in dawn raids on Thursday at homes close to Windsor Castle.

One is in his 30s and the other in his 40s.

They were arrested by Scotland Yard, supported by the Royal Military Police and Ministry of Defence (MoD), on suspicion of possession of ammunition and conspiracy to steal.

Military sources said that police and military commanders suspect that soldiers inWindsor are mixing with county lines criminals who are selling them drugs.The bullets are believed to be 9mm ammo for handguns.

Both suspects remained in custody last night.The MoD said: “We are assisting the Metropolit­an Police with their investigat­ion.”
