If Chinese be food of love...eat on

-

EATING Chinese food could make kissing more enjoyable, a study says.

Experts found that an ingredient common in Oriental cuisine boosts the sensation of touch, especially on the lips.

They discovered that Szechuan pepper, which adds a tingling quality to dishes, also heightened “fluttery vibrations” on skin around the mouth.

Scientists say the study provides an insight into how brains detect and perceive different types of touch, something that has puzzled researchers for more than a century.

The University College London study found a compound of the pepper stimulated more of a tingling sensation than mere touching did.

The findings were published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B.
