Capital is home to the house proudest
THE most house-proud home owners live in London, followed by Birmingham and Newcastle.
A poll of 2,000 adults found Londoners spent more on their home than the residents of any other city – £3,778.03 last year on average
– and they also called more tradespeople.
Plus they watched TV programmes about decor and property for an average of an hour and 48 minutes per week, longer than anyone else.
Adults living in Manchester spent the longest cleaning and tidying their homes – a total of 20 hours and 15 minutes a month
Norwich came bottom for money spent on homes, time watching shows about property, and unfinished DIY jobs, the survey commissioned by Checkatrade discovered.
