Self-employed have still got to make a living, Priti Rule-breaking idiots are to blame, not our poor Boris

-

I HAD great regard for Home Secretary Priti Patel until her comments on holidays (“Now foreign breaks are being outlawed”, January 28).

She mentions social media influencers travelling around the world but their income is taxed and so it is work, not a holiday.

You can’t influence people solely from home, so travel is essential to carry out this work and maintain their following.

If the Government wants to furlough the self-employed it should compensate them, not criticise them.

AFTER watching Boris Johnson address the nation I would just like to say how sorry I felt for him (“I’m deeply sorry for every life lost”, January 27). He is doing a good job under terrible circumstances.

People who blame him and the Government for the Covid crisis should take a long, hard look at themselves. The country is struggling to cope, partly due to the idiots who don’t want to follow the rules and keep social distances, wear face coverings correctly or hand wash or sanitise.
