SIR PHILIP FALLS FROM TOP 50 TAXPAYERS
SIR Philip Green dropped out of the top 50 list of British taxpayers yesterday in the latest indication that his financial clout is fading.
The controversial 68-year-old and wife Lady Tina plunged from the tax rankings after making 23rd place last year with a liability of £44million.
Sir Philip saw his personal wealth drop £20million to £930million last year, it was said.
The tax list was topped by Denise Coates, the 53-yearold chief executive of online betting giant Bet365.
Along with her family, the Staffordshire-based executive is worth £7.12billion and handed the taxman £573million.
Fred and Peter Done were next with a tax bill of £191million.
The list, covering the period up to the end of 2019, shows how tax revenues paid by the super-rich were falling even before the pandemic.
Author JK Rowling slipped four places to 23rd, with tax liabilities down from £48million to £34million.
