Grealish leading the way like Terry
JACK GREALISH is getting a good grounding in captaincy from Chelsea legend John Terry.
Terry is on the coaching staff at Aston Villa where Grealish wears the skipper’s armband with pride.
And boss Dean Smith says he is happy to hear his England star grumbling.
Grealish was clearly unhappy at being subbed near the end of the win against Newcastle a week
8PM ago and then took issue with one of the Burnley coaching staff at the end of the 3-2 defeat on Wednesday.
Smith said: “He took umbrage to comments made by their first-team staff from the bench – and told them.
“I see that as him backing himself. I’m quite pleased he’s got the strength of character to do that. In JT, we’ve got one of the most successful captains in Premier League history on our coaching staff. He would have done exactly the same. So who better to take inspiration from.”
Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl believes the return of Oriol Romeu tonight is huge.
Saints have won just one Premier League game in seven since the middle of last month – and Romeu has been out with a calf injury since December 29.
Hasenhuttl said: “When he got injured he was in fantastic form. I like him. I like his professionalism and mentality. He is positive for the team.”
Southampton are in for Arsenal left-back Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan, raising doubts over Ryan Bertrand’s future.
