I WAS WRONG TO VOTE REMAIN...THE EU’S BECOME AN EMPIRE OF GRUMPY TEENAGERS

HAVE to admit I always think I’m right, but I like to think I always admit when I’m wrong! And I was very, very wrong when I voted to remain in the EU. Like many who voted Remain, I just wanted the status quo to carry on, to be able to go to Europe without any hassle, buy some wine and cheese, and have a nice holiday.

I didn’t think about the wider picture until I met someone who has become a very good friend. Let’s call them Nanny.

Nanny has some very interesting ideas and explained to me how the

EU was just out to control us. So I should have known better.

I’ve known Nigel Farage for more than 20 years and he’s a good guy, except that we disagreed on Europe.

Then Nanny put me right. The EU is nothing more than an embryonic empire. Perhaps it’s actually a teenage empire.You could see how cross they got when they were told they couldn’t have an embassy: why would they need an embassy if they’re not a country?

I’d be amazed if there were any Remainers left.
