Shaking no longer stirs us...
THREE QUARTERS of Brits say they will never shake hands again, a survey found.
They say the pandemic has left them too worried to return to the old custom, even after the country is vaccinated.
A staggering 75 per cent of those asked – the equivalent of 50million people – said they would ditch handshakes.
And 31 per cent – 20million people – said they would only shake hands reluctantly.
Nearly half, 42 per cent, said an elbow bump should be adopted as the official greeting.
Some 35 per cent said it should be a fist bump and 13 per cent even said Britain should adopt the Oriental bow.
Overall 65 per cent also said they would like face-mask wearing to continue in public after the pandemic.
A spokesperson for biotech firm U-Earth, which carried out the poll, said: “These kinds of small changes can make a contribution to a safer world.”
