Cancer can be tackled by Med diet
A MEDITERRANEAN diet can halt the progression of prostate cancer, a study reveals.
Scientists found that eating more fish, vegetables and cereals can stop the disease advancing.
They said that for every one-point increase in the Mediterranean diet score, there is substantial lower risk of progression.
The University of Texas researchers also found the regime reduces the effect of diabetes.
Dr Carrie DanielMacDougall said: “This study gets us closer to providing evidence-based diet recommendations to optimise outcomes in cancer patients.”
The study appears in the journal Cancer.
