A double helping from the cobbles tonight sees Paul steeling himself for court, while, on the orders of Todd, (Gareth Pierce, left), Will breaks into Paul and Billy’s flat – only for Summer to walk in. Meanwhile, Asha spells it out to Corey that he’s dumped and Aadi runs some business ideas past Dev. In the second episode, a terrified Summer dashes out of the flat and into the path of a van, and a troubled Peter admits that he’s been tipping his medicinal whisky down the sink.
History: Long Lost Family, ITV, 9pm
Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell help more people to reunite with long-lost relatives. Yasika Fernando was separated from her Sri Lankan birth mother when she was adopted by a British couple at a few months old, and has longed to find her since discovering the truth about it aged 18. The other story follows Richard Standen (left) who was reunited with son Darren (centre), watched by Darren’s half sister Kim (right).
Film: The Nice Guys, Film4, 9pm
Following massive box-office success with Iron Man Three writer/director Shane Black returns to the buddy movie genre that made his name (Lethal Weapon, The Last Boy Scout) to deliver unadulterated, rollicking good fun and this slick crime comedy. It’s Los Angeles in 1977 and the demise of porn star Misty Mountains is the catalyst that brings louche gumshoe Holland March (Ryan Gosling, far left) into contact with sourpuss legbreaker Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe, left), drawing them into a missing-person mystery involving the adult entertainment industry, colourful and unsavoury Mob killers and municipal corruption at its worst.
Documentary: Shut-Ins: Britain’s Fattest People, Channel 4, 10pm
The last episode of the series features mum-of-three Samantha (above with husband Keith), who feels that her issues with food have made her life intolerable. Samantha leaves the responsibilities of family life to her husband. She also experiences headaches caused by hypertension. But with a grandchild on the way, Samantha is determined to break old habits.
Soap: Emmerdale, ITV, 7pm
Presented with a painful reminder about her pregnancy, Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy, right) succumbs to the temptation of alcohol and knocks back a glass of vodka. However, Nicola bursts in catching Laurel red-handed with the bottle and leaving her to explain her actions. Shocked, Nicola’s heart breaks for Laurel as she learns about the termination and its effect on her. Elsewhere, Harriet questions things and Jimmy is left fearful. Meanwhile, Gabby flirts with Jamie.
