Drama: It’s A Sin, C4, 9pm

While making their way in the world, the terror the friends have been trying to avoid suddenly strikes at their heart in the most unexpected manner as the dreadful randomness of the HIV/Aids virus tears through them. Reeling from the news, everyone has to rally round. And when a hospital takes shocking action, the flatmates must fight like never before. Russell T Davies drama, set in the 1980s during the Aids crisis, starring Olly Alexander (left), Neil Patrick Harris, Lydia West and Stephen Fry.

Film: Planet Of The Apes, ITV4, 9pm

An astronaut crash-lands on a strange planet and is captured and enslaved by the ruling race of highly intelligen­t apes. Luckily, he is helped by a sympatheti­c chimpanzee – but then discovers a shocking secret. Remake of the 1960s sci-fi adventure, directed by Tim Burton and starring Mark Wahlberg and Estella Warren (above) with Helena Bonham Carter and a cameo from the original film’s star Charlton Heston.

Comedy: Not Going Out, BBC1, 8.05pm

It’s a typically quarrelsom­e half-hour as the extended family rise early for a trip to the Normandy beaches. Geoffrey is on cruel form trying to impose military discipline, huffing and fuming like a steam engine. Meanwhile, Lee becomes obsessed with a flagon of milk he refuses to leave behind in the fridge and his dad Frank (Bobby Ball, left with Deborah Grant) gets D-Day mixed up with Game Of Thrones, while a glance at a passport brings long-buried family secrets spilling out. Suddenly, the trip takes on a very different meaning as Lucy discovers that her grandfathe­r was not the man she thought he was. Sitcom, starring Lee Mack and Sally Bretton. Last in the series.

Drama: The Investigat­ion, BBC2, 9pm/9.45pm

Jakob admits there is still too little evidence to charge the suspect. Meanwhile, Nikolaj meets with an expert on submarines who contradict­s the suspect’s statement. In the second episode, the team remain focused on being able to establish the accused’s guilt as Jakob reminds them the benefit of doubt lies with the accused. With Rolf Lassgard and Pernilla August (above). In Danish and Swedish. Last in series.

Film: Coronation Street, ITV, 7.30pm

Simon’s heart sinks when Jacob tells him to make an altogether different drop-off that’s a world away from his normal delivery round. Elsewhere, when Imran tentativel­y asks Leanne (Jane Danson, right) when she might return to work she panics and resigns. Meanwhile, Gail discovers her dad Ted has tragically died and Johnny tells Jenny that his condition has worsened, only for Daisy to say she should make a new start as she tells Jenny to leave him.
