Dyche gets to point of what really does count

BURNLEY V FULHAM 6PM, SKY SPORTS

- GIDEON BROOKS

SEAN DYCHE has “no concerns” about Burnley’s roller-coaster results just as long as they reach the end of May with enough points to stay up.

The Clarets have scored back-to-back league wins only once this season.

Fresh from a win at Crystal Palace they can make it two tonight but Dyche, below, said: “I have no concerns about that – this is the Premier League and it’s difficult winning two, three, four or five games on the trot. So, no, it’s not a concern, it’s the reality. Even the bigger clubs, not many put threes and fours together. I’m more interested in the amount of points we total at the end of the season.”

Cottagers boss Scott Parker is after his first back-to-back wins following their surprise victory over Everton. The fact that Fulham need wins, not draws, could play into Dyche’s hands.

“We’ll have to see if it works out like that,” he added. “Theyre out to win as many as they can. Realistically you need a minimum of 10.”

Parker believes he has found aViking leader to steer Fulham out of trouble. His centre-back Joachim Andersen has been a revelation since joining on loan.

“Leadership is something you see instantly, you need respect from your peers,” said Parker. BURNLEY (probable): Pope; Lowton, Tarkowski, Long, Bardsley; Gudmundsson, Cork, Westwood, McNeil; Barnes, Rodriguez.

FULHAM (probable): Areola; Tete, Andersen, Adarabioyo, Aina; Loftus-Cheek, Reed, Lemina; Decordova-Reid, Maja, Lookman.
