Nuno asks for more from ‘unique’ Traore
ASTON VILLA V WOLVES 5.30PM
ADAMA TRAORE is unique, according to Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
The muscular winger flopped in the Premier League at Aston Villa five years ago.
But he showed flashes of his potential after a move to Middlesbrough.
Now Nuno insists that Traore, 25, is improving despite not scoring this season.
Traore, right, provided four goals and nine assists last season.
Nuno said ahead of today’s trip to Villa: “Adama is unique. There is no player like him.
“He is very special. I’m always hoping for that special thing to happen but it is there, no doubt about it.
“Since he joined Wolves the differences in performance still exist but he is growing and it [his consistency] is going up.”
The Barcelona product has made his debut for Spain this season and now has five caps.
He was unlucky not to open his League account for the season against Leeds two weeks ago when his thunderbolt came back off the bar and went in off goalkeeper Illan Meslier for an own goal.
Nuno added: “He is progressing. Adama is being able to cover more positions on the pitch, to change sides and create an impact.
“He has played as a full-back and played as a striker.A lot of things Adama has improved on.”
Nuno has insisted he will carry on taking the knee before kick-off as an anti-discrimination gesture even if others drop the protest.
He said: “I will continue to do it even if one day I will do it by myself.
“The results don’t come immediately but you cannot give up.”
