Shedding a tear for great man loved by millions
TODAY I shed a tear for a man I had never met. HRH Prince Philip was a man who has been there all my life and was more British than many who are British born.
A man who willingly played “second fiddle” to his beloved wife, our Queen in royalty’s orchestra.
A man of innate strength and capability who through his own passion for learning, and a determination to uncover the hidden potential of young people, changed the lives of thousands and set them on the right course.
A unique man who’s left a huge indelible giant fingerprint on the face of Great Britain and the world. Although he often made us laugh, he often voiced his displeasure and when a photographer took rather too long to line up his shot Prince Philip said loudly “Oh for goodness sake - take the ****** photograph!”
He was loved by many and will be sadly missed.
