BILLY ROOT reached his sixth first-class hundred – off the bowling of big brother Joe.

But Glamorgan had to settle for a draw with Yorkshire in their opening County Championship match of the season.

Billy Root moved from 77 overnight to 110 and Chris Cooke to 102 as Glamorgan set Yorkshire 379 to win. Joe Root fell for 13 but Adam Lyth – with an unbeaten 115 – helped the hosts finish on 223-4.
