Dallas hails the dig for victory
MATCHWINNER Stuart Dallas hailed the collective spirit that earned 10-man Leeds a famous victory over Manchester City.
Dallas scored twice, his winner coming in added time after Leeds had skipper Liam Cooper sent off just before the break.
“It’s obviously a great result,” said Dallas. “It’s hard enough against this team, or any team, with 11, never mind against City with 10.
“It was difficult, we had to dig in. I thought we defended very well and limited them to very few chances, long-range shots and a lot of possession.
“We knew it was going to be difficult but we just knew that if we could have a bit more composure on the ball, we could maybe get one chance.
“I was able to get on the end of a through-ball from [Ezgjan] Alioski.
“I think I just took one touch then closed my eyes and hit it!
“We dug in, we showed a different side to us – that we’re able to defend when we need to. That has been criticised throughout the season, but today
we stood up.”
