by Tottenham, citing provocation by Erik Lamela that led to Anthony Martial being sent off when the teams met last October, in a match United lost 6-1.

Mourinho learned of the comments relating to yesterday’s game after doing his own broadcast interviews and tracked down Solskjaer to make his feelings known.

Then he was made even more angry when the matter was not brought up in his general press conference.

“I am very surprised that after the comments Ole made on Son you don’t ask me about it,” he said. “I told Ole this already.

“What would be the reaction if I had said this?

“Son is very lucky his father is a better person than Ole. As a father, and I am a father, you have always to feed your kids, it doesn’t matter what they do.

“You steal to feed your kids. I am very disappointed. I told Ole already what I think about his comments.”

Tottenham later revealed Son had suffered “abhorrent” racist abuse online following the VAR controversy.

The club issued a statement which said: “This has again been reported to the platforms and we shall now undertake a full review alongside the Premier League to determine the most effective action moving forward. We stand with you, Sonny.”
