LOUIS THE THIRD
Kate’s sweet birthday snap
IT looks like Prince Louis has inherited the Royal Family’s love of the outdoors as he shows off his new bicycle on the eve of his third birthday.
This cute image of the little lad on his sparkling red Frog bike was released by Kensington Palace last night.
It was taken on his first day at nursery school in South Kensington earlier this week by his proud mother Kate, who is known for her striking photography.
Louis appears to be a mix of both her and his dad William, although he perhaps most resembles Kate’s father Michael Middleton.
Uniform
The prince, who celebrates his birthday today, is wearing his nursery school uniform and sporting a rucksack – as well as a broad grin.
A spokesman for Kensington Palace said: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share a new photograph ahead of Prince Louis’ third birthday.
“The photograph was taken at Kensington Palace on Wednesday by the Duchess, shortly before Prince Louis left for his first day of nursery at the Willcocks Nursery School.” The Frog
Tadpole, on which Louis is perched, is considered one of the best “first bikes” for youngsters and retails at around £200.
Unusually, this year the young Prince – fifth in line to the throne – is expected to celebrate his birthday in London.
His two siblings Prince George, seven, and Princess Charlotte, five, usually spend their birthdays in the countryside with their parents.
But while Louis is still too young for primary school, George and Charlotte are both pupils at Thomas’s Battersea and returned to classes on Tuesday, following the Easter holidays.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 39, was spotted treating her brood to some fun school stationery at Smiggle on King’s Road in London on Monday.
George and Charlotte’s private primary school is a short drive from Kensington Palace, where the Cambridges are based during term time.
The Palace is also Kate and William’s administrative base and traditionally where they conduct royal duties from.
They spent most of their time at their rural home Anmer Hall, in Norfolk during the lockdowns.
PRINCE Louis beamed with joy on his first day at nursery school. We wish the three-year-old the happiest of birthdays today. The delight he clearly brings to his family is especially poignant as the country mourns the passing of his great-grandfather.
Louis looks thrilled with his new push bike in the photograph snapped by his mum, and we hope his time at nursery will be as gleeful as his grin.
