Updated Harry and Meghan biography set to widen rift

- By Paul Jeeves

AN EXPLOSIVE new version of Prince Harry and Meghan’s biography Finding Freedom is set to fan the flames of their royal rift even further.

Out this summer, it will tackle their infamous Oprah Winfrey interview.

And it will include denials that Meghan bullied royal staff and cover the recent death and funeral of Prince Philip.

The first edition, by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, was published last August.

It painted a sugar-coated picture of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s four years together leading to their decision to withdraw from official duties and move to America last year.

The new version, out on August 5, is also expected to discuss their multi-million pound deals with Netflix and Spotify, and their new life in California.

But it could also deal with the Queen’s decision to strip them of their royal patronages including Harry’s military roles.

Royal fans had hoped Harry and his brother William would rebuild their fractured relationship after they were seen speaking at the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral this month. But insiders fear the reissue of Finding Freedom will aggravate the simmering tensions.

A senior courtier is reported to have said: “The Oprah interview detonated a bomb under the Royal Family and most of them are still reeling in shock. The book will not help.”

Another senior royal source added: “After Oprah, what else is there to say?”

Harry, 36, flew back to the US last Tuesday after the funeral – his first trip back to Britain in a year.

It was also the first time he had seen his family since making explosive allegations about royal racism during the interview with Oprah. He also claimed his father

Charles and William are “trapped in the system”.

Harry missed the Queen’s 95th birthday on Wednesday and is believed to have met Charles and William only once.

Both were both badly wounded by his decision to emigrate and pour his heart out on TV.

After the funeral William and Harry walked back to Windsor Castle. Later there was a face-toface meeting within the grounds of the castle between the brothers and Charles.

Harry missed his grandmother’s birthday, but wanted to get home to Meghan, 39, who is pregnant with their second child, a girl.
