Disease won’t dull Paxman’s brilliant mind

I AM sorry to learn that Jeremy Paxman, that scourge of waffling politicians and brilliant quizmaster on University Challenge has Parkinson’s disease.

He is one of the few interviewers who is actually interested in the answer rather than impatient simply to ask the next question, although if one evades answering he is quite happy to press it – 14 times!

Parkinson’s is horrible but failing co-ordination does not mean failing sharpness and I reckon Jeremy will be quizzing and writing for many years to come.
