Keir’s tears amid party fears
THE faces of the female cast members on the Friends reunion trailer might have looked a little taut. But that’s never a description that could have been levelled at the well-upholstered appearance of co-star Matt Le Blanc near right.
I suspect I’m not the only man of a similar age (and waistline) who felt even more warmly towards him as a consequence.
YOU have to feel sorry for Keir Starmer, reduced to tears recalling family tragedy on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories. A distressing episode he might not have felt so compelled to undergo if it weren’t for the plight of a Labour party less likely to win power than the UK is the next Eurovision Song Contest.
At least someone had sufficient sense to choose Kim Leadbeater as the party’s candidate at the forthcoming by-election in Batley and Spen, once held by her late sister Jo Cox.
It might even prove enough to hold the seat.
