IS THE FOOD IN POSH RESTAURANTS HUGELY OVERRATED?

-

YesTHREE cheers for billionaire businessman Matt Moulding for ordering chips and gravy with his lobster (“When the chips are down the world is your lobster”, May 25).

I agree withVanessa Feltz when she says any truly top restaurant wouldn’t bat an eyelid at such a request but many people are afraid to ask.

People are told fancy grub is amazing, and some of it is, but some of it is truly a waste of a plate.

Food doesn’t taste better just because it has a fancy name or is in a tiny portion. Robert Eastham,

YOU can take the lad out of Burnley but you can’t take Burnley out of the lad.

How embarrassing for businessman Matt Moulding, ordering chips and gravy with his lobster.

There is nothing wrong with such fine delicacies but people who aren’t willing to give more sophisticated food a try are really missing out.

There is a reason why people are prepared to pay high prices for gourmet food and that is because it tastes darn good, even without a portion of gravy. Jessica Catterall, Leicester
