Punish Beeb by making it stand on its own two feet

I AGREE with Dorothy Lowe (Letters, May 25), that the entire board of the BBC should either resign or be sacked over the Martin Bashir scandal.

The BBC’s former director general Lord Hall certainly jumped ship quickly enough when he saw what was emerging.

The best move would be to make it stand on its own feet and abolish the licence fee.
