HARRY GUESSING GAME

- MATTHEW DUNN

GARETH SOUTHGATE has been kept in the dark about Harry Maguire’s injury situation.

The England boss admits he will find out only tonight the extent of the Manchester United captain’s ankle ligament damage and has heard nothing since an initial report when Maguire got injured.

Remarkably, Southgate is willing to accept the situation.

“Harry might play tomorrow or he might be out for two months, I just don’t know,” he said. “We had an initial assessment, which was positive in terms of the tournament, but further investigation was needed.

“Of course when you’ve got a European final and information for the opposition is so tight and things leak, I understand why clubs want to keep their cards close to their chest.

“It has made it a little more difficult for us but I don’t have a problem with Manchester United.”
