CRITICS’ LILIBET SILLINESS IS JUST AN EXCUSE TO HAVE A POP AT MEGHAN AND HARRY
THOSE so-called royal correspondents, biographers and the rest of the happy bunch have been getting their teeth into Meghan and Harry again. Why? Because they named their new baby, Lilibet Diana.
I think it’s a lovely name. It obviously commemorates Harry’s mum – a loss that must still be very painful – and his grandmother, whose pet name was Lilibet.
I can’t think of a nicer, more thoughtful, thing to do. But the know-it-alls – who, by the way, often have very little access to the people they’re talking about – are at it again. “Did they get the Queen’s permission to use the name?” they harrumph. “Isn’t it an insult to her Majesty?”
“How can Harry and Meghan do this to the Queen after all she’s recently gone through?”Well, I’ve never heard such rubbish. Why would anybody be upset when a child is named after them?
Give Meghan and Harry a break. Surely there are a million and one more serious and important topics for critics to moan about.
