Legions of woke students silent on modern slavery
IT IS disappointing that universities, staff and students appear to have become so narrow in their outlook, instead of the places of discussion and intelligent debate they once were. Leave statues alone but add a plaque explaining the life of that person (“Oxford dons in protest over Rhodes statue”, June 10).
If these protesters wish to improve conditions why don’t they concentrate on the enormous problem of slavery that exists today? I doubt in their small woke world they are even aware of it.
