My grandkids will benefit

- By Giles Sheldrick

OLIVE Munro said new dementia treatments will come too late to help her but should protect her grandchildren.

The 70-year-old, from Loch Tay, Perthshire, said: “I know developments in dementia research are likely to come too late for me. This condition will rob me of my life.

“But the most important thing for me is there is hope treatments will be found to slow down and stop dementia so my grandchildren’s generation will not be affected. The Government needs to hear us and act on this petition.”

In 2018 Olive and her husband Ronnie, pictured, trekked the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route through France and Spain.

They completing the 485-mile route in two months and in doing so, raised £2,700 for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
