GARETH SOUTHGATE has been warned Scotland will be “simple” but “painful” opponents who “kick long balls” when they clash at Wembley.

Czech coach Jaroslav Silhavy said after his side’s 2-0 win: “Scotland played in a simple way, long balls and tackles, and it was painful for us. Scotland kicked long balls at us and we needed a good defensive line.

“We had to get in a good mental shape. We knew they’d tackle and be aggressive.”
