Man with the Golden Guns...

Trainer reveals how Craig got Bond body

- EXCLUSIVE By Tom Bryant

IF the Spectre of pickled cabbage for breakfast and hard graft doesn’t put you off, you too might get a body akin to Daniel Craig’s – thanks to his personal trainer.

Simon Waterson, who got Craig in shape as 007, has written a manual on how he did it, including those shapely biceps, the golden guns.

And the actor, 53, has written the foreword, describing Simon as the movie industry’s “most in-demand” fitness guru. Craig said:

“Without his help and guidance, I wouldn’t have made it through

15 years of playing

James Bond.”

The book – Intelligent Fitness: The Smart Way to Reboot Your Body and Get in Shape – will also include behind-the-scenes photos of “training sessions in the 007 gym”.

Simon says of Craig: “I am constantly impressed with him and his mentality. My goal was to help him be the fittest 50-year-old on the planet. I think we got there.” He said in another interview: “After a few months of training, Dan was lifting and performing like an athlete. He had full focus. I still can’t believe the changes he achieved. It shows with willpower and dedication you can achieve anything.” Elite Forces veteran Simon has also worked with Captain America actor Chris Evans and Chris Pratt, star of Guardians of the Galaxy.

His programme includes diet – Craig’s high-protein breakfast would typically include eggs, rye bread, avocado, kimchi, turmeric shots and black coffee. Simon added: “I don’t think people realise how demanding productions are.

“I’m blown away he is still standing half the time.”
