Father’s Day fun for Wills

- By Steph Spyro

IT was smiles all round for the cameras as two of the Duke of Cambridge’s children helped him to launch a half-marathon on Father’s Day.

Prince William, 39 today, beamed with Prince George and Princess Charlotte as they got the race underway on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate yesterday.

William, dressed casually in a blue shirt and navy chinos, spoke to the runners before counting down from 10 with George, seven, and Charlotte, six.

The Duchess of Cambridge, 39, and Prince Louis, three, were not snapped at the event.

But Kate did release a photo of her husband and all their children for Father’s Day. The family posted a notice board-style video online including William with his father and brother in their younger days and a photo of bride Kate with her father Michael.

There was also a photograph of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh with their great-grandchildren.

Other snaps shared online by the Royal Family included the Queen with her father King George VI.

Message

The 1951 shot shows them with Prince Philip and Prince Charles at Balmoral. A message said: “To all dads everywhere, we wish you a very special Father’s Day.”

Photos of Charles with his sons William and Harry were posted online by Clarence House aides.

THE Royal Family has not had an easy year. Prince Harry ran off to California in a huff amid reports of a rift with his brother and the Queen lost her beloved husband after 73 years of marriage.

And yet, somehow, the future of the monarchy seems secure – and that is largely due to the way the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have conducted themselves during the pandemic.

On Father’s Day yesterday, Prince William looked a happy man as he and two of his children started a half-marathon on the Sandringham Estate, and today he celebrates his 39th birthday. Have a good one,Wills!
