Mount has learned to ignore the boos

- By John Cross

MASON MOUNT says he and his team-mates have learned to shut out crowd noise during difficult moments.

England fans booed their side off following the 0-0 draw with Scotland on Friday – after also voicing their frustrations during the meeting at Wembley.

Midfielder Mount insists the squad have become accustomed to the jeers.

However, the Chelsea star also says they want to focus on getting things right to make the fans and the country proud.

Mount, 22, said: “I’ve had a lot of boos in my short career. We focus on ourselves, how we can improve, what areas of our game we can do better at.

“We put pressure on ourselves to be perfect.

“We want to make the country proud and, hopefully, in the next game against the Czech Republic we can do that.

“Fans want to see us attack all the time but sometimes you have to manage the game and keep the ball. The Scotland game was frantic at times and sometimes you have to control the ball, build possession – that’s part of football.”
