Lukas: We beat them once, we’ll do it again
LUKAS MASOPUST says Czech Republic are ready to pull off another upset against England.
Midfielder Masopust was part of the team who beat Gareth Southgate’s men 2-1 in October 2019 to end England’s 43-game unbeaten run in tournament qualifying.
Masopust said: “The win was a massive boost for us. England are a phenomenal team full of fantastic players, but the fact we beat them proved that we can beat anyone. And if we continue to work hard, we can repeat that. If we top the group, then it’s excellent for us.
“It’s going to be great that the fans are going to be present.The atmosphere is going to be thrilling at Wembley.”
Masopust believes that West Ham pair Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek are a good advert for their country’s football.
He added: “They’re giving a great name to Czech football and I believe they’re opening the path to English football for more Czech players.
“So, I believe we can give England a hard time.”
