Film: Die Hard With A Vengeance, ITV4, 10pm

New York cop John McClane (Bruce Willis, left) returns to duty following an explosion at a department store in the city. German terrorist Simon contacts the police and tells them that unless McClane and an unfortunat­e bystander who was in the wrong place at the wrong time play along with his twisted game of “Simon Says”, more bombs will soon be detonated. Directed by John McTiernan, this action thriller sequel also stars Jeremy Irons and Samuel L Jackson.

Soap: EastEnders, BBC1, 7.40pm / 8.05pm

On the morning of Linda’s birthday, she receives an unexpected present from Max – and is even more surprised to notice the postmark. Frankie throws a party as Mick (Danny Dyer, above) and Linda struggle with their secret. Rocky and Shirley are getting on like a house on fire, although he is smitten when Kathy shows up to the bash. Elsewhere, Ruby tells Jean she believes she doesn’t deserve to be happy.

Property: Escape To The Chateau, C4, 9pm

Dick and Angel Strawbridg­e help Nancy and Arthur transform their bland backyard into a sumptuous boho-inspired garden lounge, complete with a pergola, cocktail herb garden and macramé lanterns. Angel (left) shares the secret behind painting velour fabric so that Sylvia and Paul can revamp their caravan seating area for the small sum of £20 – and once Dick has taken care of the rot around the windows, their family caravan holiday can get under way. Meanwhile, Aqsaa seeks assistance creating a Ramadan calendar, and the solution comes in simple but stylish hanging boxes and bags – which involves a lot of fun for all the family.

Documentar­y: The Supervet, C4, 8pm

Noel encounters a goldendood­le who sustained nerve damage to one of his front legs and smashed a wrist in a 20-metre fall. After the initial trauma, Angus (above) was in significan­t pain and faced possible euthanasia. Distraught owner Zoe brings him in, hoping that Noel can give her other alternativ­es. Also receiving attention is springer spaniel Rocky, whose failed elbow operation has left him struggling to walk.

Travel: Martin Clunes: My Travels And Other Animals, ITV, 8.30pm

The Doc Martin and Men Behaving Badly actor learns how to look after vulnerable creatures as he travels the world and meets the people who have dedicated their lives to protecting them. Episode nine of the nature series sees Martin (right) head to Ningaloo Reef, an ocean paradise in Australia. He swims with the world’s largest fish – the whale shark – before taking part in the oldest royal tradition – swan-upping – on the River Thames.
