UK posts 1.5m job vacancies

A SKILLS “mis-match” has led to 1.5million job vacancies in Britain, according to the Recruitment and Employment Confederation.

Another 192,000 job postings were added in the last week of June, it said.

Neil Carberry, chief executive of the REC, said it showed the need to boost skills to match the jobs in demand.

“Tackling this mis-match, in the context of a tightening labour market, should be a priority for government and businesses, working together,” he said.
