Looking after our world
THERE’S a big difference between being concerned about the natural world around us and doing something about it. This newspaper’s Environment Power List names those who are championing the fight to tackle climate change, while also pushing the Government to introduce policies that will cut pollution and hopefully reverse the wretched decline in plants and wildlife.
We are acutely aware that our list comprises many well-known figures, including members of the Royal Family, who have a platform from which to speak. Most of us do not have that privilege. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have a voice.
It is the duty of all of us to do our bit to fight climate change. This is our world and so it is our responsibility to look after it.We must keep up the pressure on governments around the globe – and this is a poignant moment to do just that as Boris Johnson prepares to host the Cop 26 Climate summit in Glasgow in November.
Future generations will suffer dreadfully if we don’t.
