STOKING RACE TENSIONS IS MADNESS

LABOUR reached a new low in the Batley and Spen by-election when it circulated a picture of Boris Johnson shaking hands with the Hindu Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. It was captioned, “Don’t risk a Tory MP who is not on your side.” It was clearly aimed at the Muslims in the constituency. Are they out of their minds?

During the 1947 Partition of India, when Muslims and Hindus were set against each other, up to two million died in the horrific rioting and up to 20 million more were displaced. Hindu India and Muslim Pakistan are still at each other’s throats.

Now Labour seems to want to risk importing those terrible tensions to Blighty in order to win a by-election. There are those mourning the slow death of that erstwhile great political party. Count me out.
