IT’S NEARLY HOME NOW
Joy as Lions end 55-year wait for final
ENGLAND made history last night with a thrilling extra-time victory over Denmark sending them into the Euros final.
But Gareth Southgate’s men, who face Italy in Sunday’s final, had to hit back from behind to finally see off the brave Danes.
Mikkel Damsgaard’s free-kick had the Three Lions on the rack before an own goal from Simon Kjaer levelled the semi-final before the break.
And then skipper Harry
Kane scored the winner in the
105th minute after he slammed in the rebound – from his own saved penalty, earned by Raheem Sterling, above.
Kane’s 37th goal for the country sent a 60,000 Wembley crowd wild, along with the millions watching at home, as England reached their first major final in 55 years.
