CESAR’S LOYALTY

CESAR AZPILICUETA could not bring himself to leave his Spain team-mates after their penalty shoot-out heartbreak against Italy – so flew back to Madrid with them before getting on the next plane to London!

The Chelsea defender was given permission by the Spanish FA to head straight back to his Surrey home from Wembley. But such was his desire to stay with his team, he boarded Spain’s charter plane to Madrid’s Barajas airport.

When they landed, he stayed at the airport before catching a flight back to England.
