Film: Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Film4, 9pm

Hotshot agent Ethan Hunt, played by Tom Cruise (left), and the Impossible Missions Force team work together with CIA assassin August Walker to prevent a disastrous nuclear attack planned by mysterious arms dealer John Lark and a group of terrorists known as the Apostles. However Hunt and his colleagues are soon pushed to their limits thanks to a familiar face from their past. This 2018 action thriller, written and directed by Christophe­r McQuarrie, is the sixth instalment in the award-winning Mission: Impossible series. The all-star cast includes Henry Cavill, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris and Alec Baldwin.

Soap: EastEnders, BBC1, 8.35pm

Phil’s plans come to a standstill when solicitor Ritchie is too swamped to take on the custody case, so Ben offers a helping hand. Frankie is on edge when the police turn up with a lead on Nancy’s case, Chelsea tries to persuade Gray to let her move in – in her own seductive way – and Bobby (Clay Milner Russell, left) is flustered when Dana arrives at the restaurant. Meanwhile, word on the Square is that football legend Harry Redknapp is making an appearance at the Vic.

Drama: Endeavour, ITV, 8.30pm

DS Morse (Shaun Evans, above left) suspects a connection between a woman’s disappeara­nce and the unsolved murder of a teenager. However the discovery of a body and unusual elements to the crime scene suggest another possibilit­y. Fred (Roger Allam, above right) investigat­es a lorry hijack which he believes could be the work of a local gangster, and Fancy takes on an informant who is later murdered.

Nature: Scotland: A Year In The Wild, C5, 7pm

It’s autumn in Scotland and the clock is ticking. As daylight begins to diminish and the weather cools, food resources dwindle. The animals, including stags (above) and hooded crows, must either migrate now or plump themselves up for the cold winter months ahead. Viewers will also get a glimpse of the first sprinkling of snow on the country’s highest peaks and the changing colours of the inland moorlands.

Music: Britain’s Favourite 90s Songs, C5, 10pm

Episode seven of this first series delves into the musical highs of 1997. To celebrate the best dance floor jams and pop hits of the year, there are contributi­ons from artists including Blur’s Alex James, Boyzone’s Shane Lynch, Steps’ Lee Latchford-Evans and Hannah Spearritt from S Club 7. The Spice Girls (right) were huge during this time, Aqua brought us Barbie Girl, and Chumbawamb­a were Tubthumpin­g, but who came out on top with the biggest-selling single?
