Kitty dressed for her own success

-

DID EVER a bride more beautiful than Lady Kitty Spencer walk the earth? I chatted to her once in the ladies’ lavatory of a London hotel. So dazzling was her pulchritude I could barely rub two syllables together. She is a truly glorious 30-year-old specimen of golden pedigree and has tied the knot to a chap billed as “billionaire Michael Lewis, 62”.

Therein, we might suppose, hangs a tale. It is believed the bride’s father Earl Spencer refrained from joining in the couple’s revelry in Rome, instead posting pictures from Althorp, the family’s ancestral pile. Could it be that Princess Diana’s baby brother didn’t relish giving his daughter away to a chap five years his senior?

Only those involved know the story behind the story. Yet one thing is clear. Although she has chosen to wed a man of colossal fortune, Lady Kitty has her eyes glued on her own financial prize.

She is ambassador for Italian high fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana, and boy, was she determined to show it.

Pre-vows, Lady Kitty was pictured seated upon a bridge, clad in a polka-dot frock designed by the D&G chaps, with one of their handbags positioned prominently.

AND during the festivities, as well as the wedding dress, she was photographed in four other D&G outfits. The high-necked lace bridal gown was described as “Victorian inspired”, although the transparent corset bodice with skin-tight bosom emphasis doesn’t pay homage to an era fond of cloaking piano legs in skirts to avoid provoking salacious inclinations.

The groom owns high street fashion chainsWhistles and Phase Eight.

Wouldn’t it have been sporting of Lady K to give a couple of his choicest outfits a bit of exposure, just to do her bit for the family business?

While we’re on the subject, what is the point of marrying a billionaire if you still feel the need to flog any brand at all?

As she’s hardly going to concern herself with keeping the wolf from the door, couldn’t Lady Kitty have chosen from the entire couture catalogue: a touch of Balenciaga or a smidgeon of Prada perhaps?
