My back to work nerves, by mum of tots Christine

- By Mark Jefferies

CHRISTINE Lampard says she is nervous about returning to work, as a mum to two young children.

But the TV host admits she has a “good balance” to parenting with football star husband Frank.

Christine, 42, has appeared regularly on ITV’s Lorraine since 2017 but will present it from August 2 to 31 while Lorraine Kelly is on her summer break.

The Lampards welcomed son Freddie in March and also have daughter Patricia, two, together.

Christine said about being back in front of the camera: “I’m very excited, probably nervous as well, but I’m nervous anyway.

“I visited [the studio] the other day and I was asked if I wanted a cup of coffee and I was like, ‘Oh my God, I would love a coffee!’ It was a real treat, and to get my hair and make-up done.”

She added: “Freddie is sleeping OK. Just keeping them both occupied is sometimes tricky. You’re flip-flopping between the two all day, but they’re very

good. Patricia is...at that toddler stage where everything she says is just really funny. She’s got an answer for everything!

“Patricia does enjoy being a big sister, there’s lots of singing of lullabies and she sort of throws toys at Freddie because she thinks she wants to help him.”

Christine added Frank, 43, who left his Chelsea manager’s job in January, is a “brilliant” dad.

“He’s great at doing the active stuff like, ‘Let’s get a ball’...and I’m doing all of the other stuff. It’s a good balance.”

●●Lorraine is on weekdays from 9am on ITV and ITV Hub.
