Solicitor who scorned Covid is killed by it
A SOLICITOR who recorded a video saying Covid was “no worse than a cold” died from the virus nine days later.
Les Lawrenson, 58, who went to Cambridge University, refused to get vaccinated because he said the jabs were too “experimental”. His partner Amanda Mitchell, 56, was seriously ill with Covid at the same time. She told BBC Radio 5 Live yesterday: “I feel incredibly foolish. Les died unnecessarily.”
She said that Les, who was found dead at home in Bournemouth on July 2, decided against having a jab after reading material on social media. Amanda said: “It was a daily thing he said to us, ‘You don’t need to have it, you’ll be fine, just be careful.’ He said, ‘It’s an experimental thing. You’re putting something in your body that hasn’t been thoroughly tested.’
“He made a terrible mistake.” Amanda now plans to have the jab when she can.
