Sad to say it’s over for Rossi the great
MOTOGP legend Valentino Rossi will hang up his leathers at the end of this season.
The nine-time world champion, widely regarded as the greatest rider of all time, announced he will retire at the end of 2021 following months of speculation. “I said I’d take a decision after the summer break and I decided to stop at the end of the season,” said the Italian, 42. “Unfortunately this will be my last half season as a MotoGP rider and it’s a very sad moment because it’s difficult to say and know that next year I won’t race after more or less 30 years.”
Rossi, ‘The Doctor’, has enjoyed a 26-year Grand Prix career and racked up seven premier class titles, one 250cc crown and one 125cc world championship, along with 89 MotoGP class wins and 235 podium finishes.
