WE’RE GOING SHORT HAUL THIS YEAR
STAYCATION Britons are only venturing 118 miles on average for holidays this year.
Around 29 million people are planning a home break – up by five million compared to last year, said a study.
Motorway roadworks, traffic jams, long hours with children or pets in the car and other driving nightmares may be putting many off deciding to go further afield from one end of the country to the other, said the research for Churchill Motor Insurance.
The West Country remains the favourite staycation destination followed by Scotland.
However, six in 10 drivers will try and choose routes with the least traffic for a more chilled journey.
