DO STUDENTS DESERVE REFUNDS FOR ONLINE LESSONS?

-

Yes

AS Covid is not the danger it was a few months ago, so students have every right to feel aggrieved about their lot (“Students’ fury as uni courses remain online”, August 9).

Students should get access to face-to-face lessons with lecturers and support staff at university and should be entitled to a refund if this is not so.They pay a fortune in tuition fees and must subsidise their education with loans so should now be returning to a proper education.

Online teaching had to be introduced but should be phased out.

No

WHILE the threat of Covid-19 remains I think universities are right to persist with online lessons for students.

I don’t think our students deserve a refund. Why should they be a specialist case?

They’ve still had access to online lessons which, with access to smartphones and tablets, must be as good as a proper lecture. What we don’t want after 18 months of hell is for this illness to stay, especially as younger people seem reluctant to get the jab and could spread it if they mix indoors.
