GB Olympians are the pride of the nation
WHAT a marvellous spectacle, especially considering that Japan 2020/21 was the Olympics that, arguably, should not have been staged (“Our golden Olympians”, August 9).
The pandemic left the games in limbo but the organisers and hosts insisted the games went ahead and aren’t we glad they did?
From Chelsie Giles and Bradly Sinden who kick-started our unbelievable medal haul, right through to Adam Peaty in the pool, to Max Whitlock’s pommel heroics. Equestrian Charlotte Dujardin won bronze, Charlotte Worthington won on her BMX, (not forgetting the crowd-funded Beth Shriever’s gold), and yet more gold for Jason and Laura Kenny. Well done, you have made us all so proud.
